Heidi Remick

Heidi Remick (she/her) is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, and Rice University's Shepherd School of Music. She was named a Brown Foundation Fellow at the latter institution to coach chamber music through the Michael Hammond Preparatory Program. An avid chamber musician, Heidi has performed at the Kent/Blossom, Chautauqua, and International Festival Institute at Round Top music festivals, and has been a guest artist with the Fessenden Ensemble, Navy Band Chamber Music Series, and The National Symphony Orchestra's Prelude and In Your Neighborhood series in Washington, D.C. 

 

Heidi was a member of the Greenville (SC) Symphony Orchestra for four years. Since moving to the Washington, D.C. area in 2006, she can be found performing in and around Washington, DC at leading venues including the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Washington National Cathedral, and the Music Center at Strathmore. Heidi is an acting member of the Maryland Symphony Orchestra for the 2023-2024 season and performs regularly with regional ensembles including the Annapolis Symphony, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and the National Philharmonic, and is excited to join the Bellingham (WA) Music Festival this summer.

Heidi is passionate about sharing the art of strings with young musicians and works with local students through the DC Youth Orchestra Program and NatPhil Youth Mentorship Program. She has been on faculty with Campbell Young Leaders (SC), Wakefield Day School (VA), and Silver Oaks Cooperative School (MD). She maintains a studio of avid violin and viola students out of her home in Silver Spring, MD. She is currently accepting intermediate and advanced students for private instruction and chamber music coaching through her teaching studio, Inner Voice Strings.

Heidi enjoys collaborating with her husband, bassist Ira Gold. When she’s not performing and teaching, Heidi can be found baking sourdough bread, and exploring the trails along Sligo Creek and the Northwest Branch with her rescue pup Hamish.
